Mrazek is a overpaid backup with a cap hit for several years; that's negative value to the Hawks and subtracts from any perceived value you are positioning to the Hawks.

Dermott is not a useful asset to the Hawks. Their LHD prospect/player pool is deep with guys that are younger, cheaper, better, and or have higher ceilings then Dermott. Galvas, Caleb Jones, Stillmany, Kalynuk, Kaiser, Beaudin, Vlasic to name a few. All of them are 2nd and 3rd line guys on the left side so while Dermott may have value to other organizations, he has little to none with the Hawks and taking on additive cap in an area of strength would probably be negative value to them.

So basically you've proposed a late 1st round pick in exchange for the Hawks taking on two cap dumps, plus Hagel, and plus Flowers at 1/2 retained. I don't think it needs to be said, but clearly Chicago would not entertain this as such.
