the leafs arnt trading nylander for a guy who isnt scoring as much as him, is worse defensivly and is significantly older and outside the aging curve. Take out those two and the leafs do it though

Hard no for the leafs

The base of this is kind of interesting, but there would need to be something added, it does make sense for leafs, because window is shrinking, this may make it shrink a little faster, but Mathews contract and tavares age going to come to a head at a similiar time. Robertson rebound could be the nylander replacement. But possibly a retained Dillon or something cheap to stack up the top nine a bit. Kind of intriguing proposal.

The only way you are getting Laine back is if you make it really worth it, or he signs there as a free agent.

That Arizona trade sucks for the Jets so we'd pass on that.

I see Laine on one side of the trade and Wheeler on the other and I turn around and walk away.
