Columbus declines easily, Gavrikov isn’t available unless you massively overpay for him. That isn’t it.

I know who he is. The kid just played for the US Olympic team but doesn't help the Islanders. An established number 4 d-man on an amazing contract for a smaller center prospect doesn't get it done. Not to mention the Islanders center position consists of Barzal, Nelson, Pageau, and Cizikas who all have term on their contracts. They also have Aatu Raty, who plays center, who is tearing it up in Liga.

It would also create another hole in the Islanders defense.
