Why invest heavily into an external solution when the answer could very well be under our nose in Bakersfield? If skinner can just post league average goaltending that is a significant upgrade without spending assets or heavily investing future cap we don’t have

I don't know, Chops. Doug might pull the trigger on this if he's high on one of the two minor leaguers as a backup to Husso. Bridge Husso for two years @ $4 million, save about $3 million in cap space, get a 1st round pick, Foegele makes Kostin tradable, Samurokov looks like a solid young third pair, which could open up a trade for one of our LHD, and a JAG in the minors. Package Kostin, Perunovich/Walman, one of those 1st rounders and something else for a top-line LHD?

Not sure about Husso at 4 mil, but the rest of your assessment is solid. I just don't think Army would trade Binnington.

I agree that Army probably doesn't trade Binner. However, if moving him frees up the cap space to sign Lindholm in free agency, do you pull the trigger? I do admit that doesn't really help us this year. I would argue that does extend the contention window getting a big boy like Lindholm long=term. I guess depend on this decision really depends on how strong Hofer or Ellis are projected./viewed by Army. Maybe Husso signs for $2.8 - $3.5???

If it were up I'd trade Binner, just don't think Army will even for cap space. Blues need Lindholm or someone like him.
