Isles do not want Barrie, and would not give up Mayfield or a 2nd individually for him.

Isles are set at RD and have Pulock and Dobson 1 + 2 who are better players than Barrie. The only way the Isles trade Mayfield is if they are getting a 1st for him, and Barrie is not included.

but like why would they want to pay almost 5 mil for a third pairing guy trotz would despise?

I don't think Isles are gonna give up a 2nd and Better Defenseman to get Barrie and Bruins don't have the cap to take on Kassian; especially by giving up a good young player.
