McBain will probably just sign with NYR anyway know their "luck" with college FA

Why wouldn't the Rangers wait and see if he becomes a free agent and then try to sign him?

While I think the Rangers would have as good of a chance as any team to sign him as a FA (worked with Hayes, and to a lesser extent with Vesey), I would definitely lock down his rights in a trade (worked with Fox).

Would Kravtsov be enough to get it done? Shouldn't take a pair of 2nd's like the Fox deal.
