No. Oettinger is untouchable.

Jake Oettinger is Dallas Goalie of the future, they sure as hell aren't dealing him.

Ah, that rare CapFriendly event, even rarer than a trade that gets universal approval -- a trade in which both teams say What?!? No!!!

Who is LA getting back? Jason Robertson would be a fair deal.

My point was that the trade I proposed is as unrealistically lopsided as the one you provided above

It wouldn't. It's a top level prospect for an established top level winger. I'll take Robertson over Byfield right now.

In what world is that close to what I put?

I wouldn't trade any one of the 3 players I put in my trade for all 3 of those pieces.

Sure you'll take Robertson over Byfield right now but at least the value is right.

Vilardi is a very good prospect and Oettinger is due for a big raise next season.

You're missing the whole point of my comment. The Kings would obviously not trade Byfield for those 3 pieces (which are pretty similar, even if you don't want to admit it). The value simply isn't there for a guy like Byfield who will be a main focal point of the Kings during their next competitive window.

For the exact same reason, the Stars don't even entertain the offer you have above. The value simply isn't there in order for the Kings to land Oettinger, who will be a key focal point for the Stars for the better part of the next decade or longer.
