Description

Red Wings continue to gain young assets that can play immediately in Barron and Lundkvist. Berard is a very promising prospect for a depth scorer. This years first and next years 3rd help to offset the retention of salary.

Paul and Ennis provide depth scoring for the Rangers. The 2nd 4th and Gauthier gives Ottawa more assets to help with their rebuild and a RFA that they can use as a depth piece.

McBain for Kravstov is two teams that are exchanging disgruntled prospects from the same draft class.

Kulak for a 2nd gives Montreal an asset to continue their vision and provides the Rangers with a bottom 2 pair defenseman that is reliable.

Buyout Nemeth in the off season or attempt to move him to a team with cap space.

Personally, I like this team a lot.

No need for Ennis. 2nd round pick for Paul straight up is fine.
Take out Berard and you are probably right on with the Detroit trade.
No guarantee McBain signs with us if we trade for his rights. Just try to sign him if he hits FA.
A 2nd for Kulak is an overpay. Like the player but not the cost.

Detroit has no use for Lundkvist, Look what Yzerman got a similar younger skill set to Mantha in Jakub Vrana and he will want the same thing with Tyler Bertuzzi and you don't have one. Barron is of no use to us and neither is Lundkvist. And the odds of Yzerman eating 50% on Bertuzzi for another year especially for that return is slim to none.

If OTT is not keeping Paul, this is a trade I'd like to see happen. The value is fair, and Paul and Ennis would be great additions to any playoff team.
