Deadline Approaches Gord have mercy

Description
I don't know Schmidt about the values of the returns, just have done a cursory look to try to get some kind of idea so that I'm hopefully not insulting any fans by being overly absurd. I'm sure I still am way off base with my guesses though.

Gord knows things need to change with the Jets. I'm not exactly sure what needs to happen in the offseason (though a thorough coaching change would be a start) so I figured I'd throw some deadline trade ideas together as a balm for my salted heart.

These seem to me like deals that would leave me feeling positive as a Jets fan at the deadline but I know I'm no hockey astronaut, just some chump with free time and wifi.
Trades
1.
WPG
  1. Lundkvist, Nils
  2. 2022 2nd round pick (NYR)
2.
WPG
  1. 2022 3rd round pick (MIN)
3.
WPG
  1. Tippett, Owen
Additional Details:
I truly cant tell the value here so this is my most *throwing a dart at the board* trade. I do recognize this would probably cause some cap issues for the panthers.

Pretty fair value on the trades. But you're right about Dillon....it's his 3.9m cap next season is a problem for most contending teams who almost all don't have cap.

My assumption was that such a deal would include a promise that Copp would have agreed to sign on afterwards. I picked Lundkvist mostly cause he fits a Jets need, and after searching it looked like he was the oddman out on the Rangers D. What kind of return would you want for him?

yeah, I was considering adding some retention to it, and maybe thats something that could happen, but my understanding (which may be way off) is that retained cap has to be a flat amount for the contracts duration? Realistically, the Jets could retain some this year and be fine, but if they had to commit to retaining that amount for the rest of his contract that would be unfortunate.

I don't think the Rangers will have cap space to sign Copp next season, but it all depends on what happens with Strome. Lundqvist is the odd man out on RD and I'm sure we will be traded at some point, but it will most likely be part of a package deal to get a top line RW or high end 2C.

I think Statsny is with a 2nd and Dillon worth a pick and a player. Framework of all 3 deals makes sense tho.

The New York and Minnesota trades look fair, but there is no reason for the Jets to overpay for Tippett. For a fair price, Tippett is worth a look, but not at the cost of a top 4 defenseman.

What would you consider to be a fair price?

I love Tippet <> Copp swap in some sort of way. Tippet could be pretty useful on the Jets

3rd or so round pick. He hasn't done anything to be worth more.
