WPG wins by a landslide. Copp and Schmidt for a 1st would be quite fair value-wise. A 1st and Addison is outrageous

You forgot to tag me but I'll reply nonetheless.

Schmidt is valued at around a late 3rd round pick. He is a serviceable defenseman, who earns a small-to-medium overpay to what he brings to the table. Schmidt has been traded for a 3rd round pick twice in his career. Copp is valued around a 2nd and something small. Copp is a great complementary piece for a contender, but he is a UFA. Add those up and you get something along the lines of a 1st round pick. Maybe add a late pick or a D-prospect as a sweetener but definitely not a blue-chip prospect like Addison.

No way the Wild want to take on the term on Schmidt's contract. 3 more years at 5.95M. Addison is a lot better alternative than that with the cap crunch coming. So, no way Wild want Schmidt's contract under any circumstance.

Minnesota declines.. Copp isn't a top 6c, and rental our gm isn't interested in. We are also not taking on coal dump in nate schmidt or his contract. So no, we aren't giving up a 1st or Calen addison
