Description

Varlamov has carried teams before he can make a cup run. Islanders get a back up save some cap space and some picks.. not sure if this is a good value or not seems like it might be a bit rich.

Giordano is a great vet who wants a cup and was born in toronto.

I don’t hate this but I think it’s more likely they will run with what they got before trading multiple assets for a goalie.

Dubas said hes not trading a 1st for a rental this year and if he does go get a goalie got to think its someone cheap like Forsberg.

Mrazek is demonstrably worse than what Varlamov has been this year and only save $1.2M against the cap - savings which is kind of wiped out by him having an extra year of term that Varly doesn't - he's gonna add $3.8M towards their cap in a season when they're going to have contracts for Mat Barzal and Oliver Wahlstrom due. Toronto either bumps one of those 2nds up to 1st to take that mistake contract off their hands, or the Islanders figure something else out.

You could do Mrazek + 1st for Varlamov and then conditional 2nd + prospect for Gio, if Gio resigns in Toronto upgrade it to a 1st next year
