Basic Value

Created by: Hii
Team: 2021-22 Ottawa Senators
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 10, 2022
Published: Mar. 10, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
So, this is the value for most of the players on Ottawa, Forsberg probably does not get traded and Paul is a maybe, Conor Brown will not be traded but for the purpose of this ACGM I will be trading them and looking at what their value should probably be in the trades. Also the teams that I have them going to are just placeholders.
Trades
1.
OTT
  1. Petrov, Matvei
  2. 2022 1st round pick (EDM)
EDM
  1. Brown, Connor
Additional Details:
You could probably get more anyway but you could definently get more with retention.
2.
OTT
  1. 2022 3rd round pick (WPG)
VAN
  1. Sanford, Zachary
Additional Details:
Third is probably his value, that's what it cost to pry him from ST. Louis, you could probably get a late pick if you retained.
3.
OTT
  1. 2022 3rd round pick (CGY)
Additional Details:
I think that he is worth a third round pick, maybe a little bit more and around the same thing with retention, he may be able to get a 3rd and a 5th if you get retained.
4.
OTT
  1. 2023 5th round pick (CBJ)
CBJ
  1. Ennis, Tyler
Additional Details:
Insanely high skilled but a smaller forward, he would be great for a team with a struggling second powerplay, he may not even be traded. But a 5th or a 4th is what he is worth, he is insanely high skilled and can play with skilled players but is also insanely hard working.
5.
OTT
NSH
  1. Brown, Joshua
Additional Details:
4th or 5th maybe even later picks, probably a 4th or 5th if you got retained but he would be great for a team looking to add a big physical defensively capable defenceman to their point for a long playoff run, would not be suprised if some of the top contenders called about him as he would be great for a playoff run. He is capable of playing high minutes.
6.
OTT
  1. 2023 5th round pick (NYI)
NYI
  1. Mete, Victor
Additional Details:
Maybe a 5th but he could also go for less, he will not be back in Ottawa for the end of the year though I think as he is skilled and a very good skater but he does not fit the long term scheme of the team and will get pushed out by other defenceman, may not be traded.
7.
OTT
  1. 2022 2nd round pick (PIT)
  2. 2022 4th round pick (PIT)
PIT
  1. Paul, Nicholas
Additional Details:
Is a player that is worth a lot because of his skill, skating ability and other intangebles, helps that he is on a very good contract and any team will love the player, he will be a great add for a playoff team but will cost quite a bit giving he is on a steal of a contract and is a great depth player capable of playing in the top 6 and middle 6.
8.
OTT
  1. 2023 2nd round pick (COL)
  2. 2023 3rd round pick (COL)
COL
  1. Forsberg, Anton
Additional Details:
He could be the best Goaltender on the market and I'm not convinced that he Sens should move him, for that reason I think that it will be a big overpay for them to move him as he has provided stability in the Sens net for almost two years. He might be the best goaltender on the market (if available) if MAF decides that he does not want to move. It will take a big overpayment for the Sens to move him that's why his value is high.
9.
OTT
TOR
  1. Zub, Artem
Additional Details:
Not available so don't even try.

I would agree to your valuation of the Brown-to-Edmonton trade provided Kassian was Ottawa-bound and Edmonton had another small piece, say a 4th, returning to Ottawa. No retention on Brown obviously.

I firmly accept that a fully-retained Connor Brown handily returns a 1st round pick, maybe a tiny little kicker to boot. Petrov is likely valued at around a 2nd round pick (just thinking if we redid that draft today, probably early second round?). I think this combination is asking for far, far too much from the Oilers.

I don't know how eager I am to pull the trigger on such a deal - I think I would - but man do I really like Petrov.

Meh, doesn't have to be Petrov, has to be a good prospect though, maybe around a third in value.

Petrov is doing just as well as Bourgault right now, he probably should be valued at a late 1st round pick actually. He certainly has as much upside as anyone right now. He's big, fast, has great hands and a great shot - there's literally nothing to dislike about him.

Not sure why Edmonton would do that though. If anything they're looking for big, physical winger who can score, Brown is not that.

If it were to be Lavoie, Edmonton probably still adds. I'd really prefer to send Kassian to the Atlantic in this deal, so if it needed to be a 1st, 2nd, and Lavoie, I'd honestly do it. At that price though I'd expect Ottawa on the hook for 50% of Brown and all of Kassian.

Early second, late first, potayto potahto. But I fully agree, he's been an absolute gem of a find.

If Katz were to somehow revolutionize the hockey management front by having essentially two general managers - one for the NHL and cap stuff and one for drafting and development - I'd happily keep Holland and K.Gretz in that second silo. It's been one of the few things Kenny continues to do right.

Maybe, thanks for the insight into Petrov, I knew he was a good prospect, would Carter Savoie work?

Savoie is matching Caufield's NHLe's in NCAA this year, for the 2nd year in a row.

No.

Okay, for all the stuff that Lavoie gets in this forum he really isn't a bad player and is ranked pretty highly in the NHL top 100 prospects. I was just using this so Leafs fans could stop making ACGM's of them sending Mrazek over for Forsberg and Paul.

Paul is on a good salary, but he's a UFA this summer.

Okay, so, he is a rental, you have to pay for rentals too...

Yes, but a UFA rental price is a bit lower than one with term. Nobody forgot anything.

He still is a very highly rated player that will do anything for the coach in the game, any team would love to have him. What are you getting at?

I was just noting that he's a UFA, that's all. I'd love to have him, but would not overpay for a rental.

Oh, okay, I think that that is close to fair value given that their probably will be a bidding war, his base value is probably a second and rentention could get you a fourth or maybe alone he could get you a 2nd and 4th if a team ponnied up to get him.
