The first two moves are good and probably ensure the team structure doesn't break, but I don't see the logic in making the next two moves.

Deslauriers is a huge downgrade on Aston-Reese, and Jarnkrok is not worth giving up Zucker and POJ for.

ZAR sucks.

I would rather have Zucker for this playoff push.

I think that’s roughly what the Sabres will get for Miller

I do know we’d take a Cap dump with him if you’d make the pick a 1st though

The Van deal seems fair to both sides.
I think both say yes.

Nah pens absolutely decline. Marino is the best piece in that deal and teams don’t usually take a hit on their defense going into a playoff run without a competent defenseman coming back. Schenn is a decent 6/7 but I wouldn’t want him, Ruh, or Friedman in my top 4. Miller isn’t a dman I’d want long term as a top 4 d.

ZAR sucks.

A) Objectively wrong. He's one of the best defensive forwards in the league. There isn't any room for a dissenting opinion here. Facts do not care about your feelings, unironically.

B) Deslauriers is one of the worst players in the league. Again, no room for a dissenting opinion here.

If you honestly think Deslauriers is better than ZAR, you have lost your marbles.
