I doubt we get tippet there but ok. We'll take pettersson anytime but would they really move him before the playoffs

If Pens want middle six help, yes.

    We can roll

    Matheson Letang
    Dumoulin Marino

    Top four

If Pettersson gets moved for a rental, you're going to need to do a little better than a 4th.

He's as good as gone. It's just a matter of this season or moving his rights in the off-season.

Your reading comprehension skills are embarrassingly bad. The trade says a 4th and Namestnikov, who's value is a 2nd/3rd. How about you try reading before comenting! Reading is very important, although some people do tend to struggle with it.

Marcus Pettersson is not good though....hilarious how you bring his name up in every thread and try to pump the guys tires that he's a Hart contender and a perennial All_star. Why does every Penguins fan include him in a trade if he's got so much value?

I can see you don't understand asset management. When teams have needs they attempt to trade from areas of surplus to fix those needs and just because they NEED to move players out doesn't mean you take less. While yes, there are situations where leverage comes into play, but not when you have player who would be wanted by more than a couple of teams. Value is value. Pettersson is not a cap dump. He's a solid 2nd pairing LHD, still young and signed to a reasonable contract.

But hey, if you'd like me to keep explaining it to you, sure.

Except he's not a 2nd pair D LOL. How many times do I need to explain this to you? I get it, reading isn't your strong area, so I'll go over it with you yet again. He averages 15:54 TOI/GP (that stands for time on ice, per games played, because I know, the reading and understanding this is not your strong area). He ranks 194th in D TOI/GP. There are 32 teams, multiple that by 4 Top 4 D per team, and that gives you 128. Your boy Pettersson is nowhere near this.

But sure, keep calling him a top 4 D.

I've presented you with the real advanced stats proof and you ignored them, so there's really nothing else to be said here. If you want to argue TOI vs. real metrics, then we're at an impasse, but hey, continue to make yourself look silly.

You haven't provided me with **** lol. You keep implying that he'a a "2nd pair D", which he isn't. Your own team barely trusts him on the ice, but in your delusional world he should return multiple assets at the TDL. (oh right, the comprehending thing is tough for you. TDL="trade deadline". sorry about that)

The guy plays less per game than D like Nicolas Meloche, Connor Clifton, Erik Gustafsson, Kale Clague, Marc Staal, Dean Kukan, Jan Rutta, Jani Hakanpaa, Zach Bogosian, Robin Salo, Matt Benning, Patrik Nemeth, Michael Del Zotto, but sure.....top 4 D LMAO

In the other thread you're stalking me in, I presented you with Jfresh's WAR card which is a pretty highly regarded piece of advanced metrics.

I can take the heat, but I can't take cyclical arguments with people who don't have a clue. It leads to nowhere.

If the rental is Namestnikov, it will need to be considerably better than a 4th getting added by Detroit.

    Pettersson, 7th for Namestnikov, 4th
Pens counter with Pettersson for Namestnikov (50%), 2nd, 4th
