Islanders decline. Mayfield is on an amazing contract for another year. He's not a rental. All these trades for Mayfield for a bunch of garbage picks years from now ain't gonna get it done.

Islanders give up the better player on a better contract. It's gonna cost more than a 2nd and a 5th next year to get him out - if you're not going to give them a nice package for that, they'll just keep him as their RD3 and get back to contending with him next year.
