Description
My predictions by the end of the season. I don't see them selling like crazy, but only making the obvious moves were expecting to see.
Trades
1.
MTL
  1. Lundkvist, Nils
  2. 2022 1st round pick (NYR)
NYR
  1. Chiarot, Ben
Additional Details:
I would include Lehky to the trade and get more, but I cant see him leaving, hes been way too good to give up and can offer so much in the coming years.
2.
MTL
  1. 2023 3rd round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
If LA makes the playoffs, an additional 4th is added

I doubt we get both a 1st and Lundkvist for Chiarot

Wouldn't trade Lundkvist for anyone on the habs besides Suzuki or Caufield. Besides Nemeth has been our best defensemen recently doubt we need chariot anymore

Just Nils and a 1st? Boy youre selling yourself short! You should be replacing him on the left side and add Miller to the trade.

Lafreniere + Kakko + 1st for Chiarot + Lehkonen.

Just to be "fair" for the Habs.

I'd be shocked if anyone gives more than a fifth for UFA 6th/7th defenseman Brett Kulak.

UFA Joe Morrow : 4th RD pick
UFA Brendan Davidson : 3rd RD pick
UFA Patrick Nemeth : 4th RD pick
UFA Derek Forbort : conditional 4th who can go has a 3rd
UFA Erik Gustafsson : 3rd RD pick

I can keep going, depth UFA dman goes for a 3rd or 4th at the TDL. Kulak is better than every player mention above. Not saying he will get more but he is definitely worth more than a late pick like you mention

Comparables are sexy AF

Kulak's game is just so irregular. The quality level of his play can vary from a 7th to top 4 material on occasions. Remember the kulak-Petry top line 2 years ago?

With his playoff experience, versatility left/right and cheap caphit (900k @ 50% retained), I could see him going for a very low 3rd (TB?). Otherwise a 4th or 5th based on demand. I put him after Braun (and Chara?) as cheap Dmen options.

Well, I strongly disagree that Kulak is more valuable than four of those defensemen when traded. Morrow had 11 points in 38 games, was a minimum-contract player and was only 25 when he went to Winnipeg. Gustafsson was coming off a 26-point year. Forbort was coming off three seasons of 82, 78 and 81 games in which he scored a total of 50 points and even today, is getting 3/4 of a minute more playing time than Kulak, and on a playoff-bound team, too. And Nemeth was more productive and being re-acquired by a team that was familiar with him, to fill a hole that had opened up due to injury, and was considered valuable enough at the time to be signed to his current contract. So I still think that you should count yourself lucky if you get more than a fifth for Kulak.

We will see I guess
But yes a 3rd would be great but I think a conditional 4th is more likely

I will be the first to apologize when the trade appears in the Forums! I'm also on the hook for lesser offers for Chiarot and Lehkonen and Hoffman than most Habs fans are happy to see, so next Monday evening may be quite a day of reckoning for me.

Same goes for me, I will give you credit if Kulak only returns a 5th 6th or 7th
But at least we have some knowledge, not like DucharmeDominator who was saying Toffoli vs Pelletier + 1st + 2nd and after Toffoli doesn’t get that, he goes Lehkonen + 4th vs Lundkvist + Kravtsov lmao
