your 1st round pick. His defensive metrics are excellent, plays in all situations and has gotten more ice time as the season has gone on. SJ will get a late 1st for him or he is not worth trading. He won't command a big contract in the offseason so any team could re-sign him fairly easy, including SJ. He is built for the playoffs and plays a mean game while maintaining his positioning and smarts.

We spent three years developing him into this player and I don't see the sharks taking anything less than an early 2nd or late 1st.

I'd love a 1st, but do not seeing a 2nd happening unless demand is high.

He is this years Barclay Goodrow. No point in trading him if the offer is lower than an early 2nd. Check his advanced stats out, Mids is a defensive powerhouse and a high character player. Contenders are already drooling for him.

Personally, I'd rather the Sharks keep him.

I don't disagree with the advanced stats, I just don't see a 1st coming back.

No one’s giving up a 1st straight up for him in this market. If Tampa was really interested in him, I could see Foote+a mid to late pick, or Tampa might offer their 1st for him and a 3rd like the Goodrow deal. It’s a buyers market and better players out there to give up a 1st straight up for. If SJ wants to keep him then fine, as they’ve put a lot into him, but no team is paying a 1st round pick straight across for him.
