Ducks decline, we'd be looking for other pieces

Studnicka would be very low on our depth chart (arguably not even in the NHL), behind Zegras, McTavish, Lundestrom, Steel, BOG at C and behind Terry, Perreault, Pastujov and arguably Colangelo at RW

Steen is trending towards being a career AHLer, not much value there, and even if he did, he would be even further buried than Studnicka

The Bruins prospect pool matches up terribly with the Ducks needs

Not necessarily disagreeing with your opinions on the trades, but just can’t really understand where you’re coming up with that comment about steen. Doesn’t seem to make any sense.

Already 24, only 22 NHL games, drafted 6 years ago, undersized at 5'9 175

Not seeing much if any upside there

Best case he becomes what a 4th liner? and thats best case

EDIT: realizing I misread his weight but being listed at 187 on NHL . com doesnt change the sentiment

I disagree about steen but I can understand Studnika. I think Steen is a good young player but doesn't fit in the bruins lineup because they aren't looking to develop players right now. They'd rather win now. They'd probably have to throw Debrusk in the deal and then change some things around.

Incorrect, like I said earlier the Bruins typically don't play their prospects because they sign older players. Rarely do they bring younger players in the lineup that's why he has that many NHL games under his belt. He'd be a third liner at the NHL level. Rakell's value shouldn't be too high remember, he isn't having that great of a season.

I could be wrong, and even if I am it doesnt change my point on where he would be on our long-term depth chart

He would still be behind all the players I mentioned above if his ceiling was a top 6 based on his age and current track record

What's your opinion on the Chychrun trade?

Maybe but you have to remember there is a possibility that some of those players don't crack the duck's roster either.

The bruins not playing prospects doesnt make his value any higher, even if he would be a third liner he would still be our 5th RW in the organization best case. Rakell is one of few rental top 6 forwards available that can be had at a very cheap number. He gets more than this easily, players that have been having worse seasons than him have gotten more in the past

Okay so this is a hockeydb appraisal. Got it. Your statement made it seem like he was trending in a certain direction, and that direction was down. Not the case.

First off, he turned 24 a week ago.
Second he got a stint in the NHL this season, and looked awesome. He got some time in the top six. Now he’s just under a point per game in the AHL, and a half goal per game.

Hockeydb doesn’t tell the full story.

No its an appraisal I make after looking at a number of factors, I know how to appraise prospects

You not liking the reality isnt my problem

He could have turned 24 today it doesnt change anything

Hes a mid-six forward best case scenario and that best case is an extreme long shot

I’m not saying he’s a stud or anything. Im’ saying that what you said was bizarre. You made it seem like his career was falling apart. There’s a clear upward trajectory to his performance.

I've got to agree with the crowd on this one. It's too much quantity and not enough quality for the Ducks. They can get better shopping Rakell elsewhere

I think a perfect trade would be like debrusk and a third or second, I just used him in the trade above so I didn't include him. I think that could make an awesome line, imagine Debrusk, Zegras, and Milano.

Realistically you'd probably get Debrusk and a second or third. I think he'd play great with Zegras and Milano. I don't really see the Bruins acquiring Chychrun.
