Kerfoot has 43 points in 59 games this year, and that is without any PP time, so unless it's a first round pick coming the other way, or he's traded in an effort to move Mrazek, the Leafs will likely hold him.

Oh and he is also making 2.5 million less than Hall.

You have answered perfectly. It was probably the worst signing for the Leafs made at $11M per year with a NMC. You need to trade Matthews who is a superior player to Tavares because of a NMC. I could relate to this situation with Price and Gally both with NMC. At least Price was willing to forgo his NMC during the expansion draft. I would love for the HABS to get rid of that contract
