I hope AD accepts a better contract than that. He's obviously outstanding offensively, but his defense isn't all that great. It just helps to play next to Slavin who's FAR better than AD. I'm also still not 100% sure there's a big market for him. I do believe in second chances, but not all teams do. I'm hopeful it's 3 years $4m. I also think you should let Nino walk if that's what he's looking for.

I think Nino probably accepts a discount to stay with Carolina and probably goes 3.5-4x4 years. DeAngelo really can’t ask for that much, and if he does, he won’t be signed. If DeAngelo resigns, it will probably be for 1-2 years and maybe between 3-4 mil. He already knows that if he acts out of line, that he will be gone and more than likely won’t be playing at the NHL level again. He has incentive to play ball with the Canes because if he doesn’t, unless a team is super desperate, like the Kane situation, he won’t be signed. DeAngelo is really just a stopgap until Morrow arrives at the NHL level. Necas has become harder to predict how his next contract goes, and for the time being, I wouldn’t give him more than 4mil. If Bear gets resigned, I am pretty sure that it would be between 2.5-3mil. Then again I am just speculating, so I could be wrong.

That’s a team dangerously close to the cap. A few things;

-I don’t see DeAngelo making more than Slavin. If he sticks around, which I think he will, I’m guessing it’s at a number below $5.3M.

-While I wouldn’t mind getting Necas locked up, I don’t think he’s done enough to earn $6M, nor do I think the team offers him that much. I think he gets a bridge around $5M for 3 or so years.

-Bear has done nothing to earn $3.25M. I’d say they end up qualifying him and either he accepts that for a yr or he gets roughly the same amount as his QO in arbitration.

-I don’t mind the 3rd line and Nino at that number, but I’d rather they use that space to go after Chychrun in the off season and promote from within or fill that 3rd line LW spot with a guy like Lekhonen.

Gunler has to improve his 60 minute effort level before he comes close to cracking the lineup

you make it sounds like he is a goaltender with 60 min effort!

Full game, however you want to say it. He doesn’t always give 100% his entire ice time.

Gunler is pretty far from the NHL at the moment. Your looking at atleast another 2-3 seasons before we possibly see him
