Provorov

Created by: A_K
Team: 2021-22 St. Louis Blues
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 17, 2022
Published: Mar. 17, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I know Provorov doesn't have the underlying numbers but I think he'd do great in the role next to Parayko. I put together what I'd consider a good deal for him, there's gonna be whining about including Marco but moving 6.75m for 0 is never gonna work.

Everyone else is abusing LTIR, might as well join the fun.

It would be interesting and I think Philly might be more willing to move him over Sanheim. I just don't how well him and Parayko will mesh since they're very similar players and typically the same types of defensemen don't play well together. But, it might be worth the gamble.

Provorov would not come cheap. Probably looking at Neighbours, Perunovich, Scandella and a 1st.

That's probably what they should ask for but it's pretty steep and leaves the Blues cupboard empty. And idk how well Perunovich would fit into their plans, seems like he'd be fighting with York for the PP/offensive time. I wouldn't mind centering a deal around Neighbours if it brings back a guy like Provorov, but I don't think the Blues FO has any plans to trade him, might be the only untouchable outside the roster rn.

Maybe Neighbours subbed in for Bolduc on the trade I have here, that's about the highest I'd go if I were Armstrong. If Flyers need more it's understandable.

Yeah I think Friedman said that the Sanheim speculation might die down bc they want to keep playing him with Risto. Not sure of the Provorov situation, and the contract puts a lot of money into the Blues top4, but with 2 kicks at the can while Thomas and Kyrou are cheap I'm back to feeling like they gotta go big. Lindholm, Chychrun, Provorov.

Probably. Blues love Neighbors though. My offer would be:
Blues-Scandella, Perunovich, Bolduc, 1st then add some conditional pick in there.
Flyers- Provorov , 4th

I agree they definitely need to especially given their lack of young talent in the pipeline. Unfortunately for Perunovich he's just redundant with Krug (unless the Blues could offload him) and he won't get his chance with the Blues.

Yeah it would be awesome to add someone at the TDL and then try to replace Krug with a healthy Perunovich next season, but that's probably dreaming. Krug has the long deal and the NTC.

Not only does he have the NTC, but if you look at his contract it's back loaded. His cheapest salary in terms of dollars is actually now instead of at the end. That will also deter any potential attraction to him.

I would be careful with him though, like he probably would’ve been be a scratch if he didn’t have the high draft pedigree.

There is some buyer beware but he's at a good age and has plenty of tools. I think he got pushed too quickly in Philly to be 'the guy'. Then again, whoever the Blues bring in is likely going to face top matchups w/ Parayko so idk if it's a great idea. I just don't want to go into the playoffs with the current D lol it scares me.
