Edmonton declines. That's too pricey for Kulak.

Had you ever see Edm winning a trade?

Big no from Pittsburgh. Not sure why Montreal fans love sending us Hoffman.

It's rare! The trouble is, Kulak's playoff record is pretty poor. I don't know why Holland would even be having the conversation.

Kulak played really good the year MTL made the playoffs as a 24th seed, he stepped up on a team that already sold their depth. Last year he was pushed out for the likes of Gustafsson... which is more of a reflection of Ducharme as a coach than Kulak IMO, he's looked good under St. Louis again. There's times where he looks like a 2nd pair PMD and then other times where he looks like a replacement level guy, a non factor. Pretty typical depth D.

Still you are right it's an overpay, looking at the history of depth D trades a 3rd would be a really nice return for MTL, a 4th would be fair IMO, a 5th acceptable if it's the best they get.

@CD282 looking through some old posts to find examples of people dismissing trades that actually were realistic.

It's interesting how Kulak went for more than what we both thought he would getting a 2nd, a 7th, + Legesson. That's even more than what OP was going for in their trade. Even more interesting, Kulak has been a great fit with the oilers from what I've seen. Proving both of us wrong.
