Description
Hagel is a tremendous player and the Lighting HAVE to be cup favorites yet again. Crazy good trade. You don't need 1st round picks when you have Hagel for 3 more playoff runs...and then RFA status. Just a crazy good move by TBL.

I love Hagel. But this is a great move for both sides. Hagel shouldn't have had any less of a return than this.

This is a true win / win. I do think CHI crushed the trade value, but TBL also crushed it when it comes to their cap constraints and knowing they have him for a long time.

Leafs pass on DeHaan, another left shot is not what we need and even if it came down to that Dubas could get Middleton for that price and save cap space.

I love this trade for the hawks, they bet on two players that haven't had a great opportunity in TB that are similar in age to Hagel. If one turns out to be an every day NHLer, this is a home run.

It's definitely a trade that only time will tell how big of a win it really is. But it has the potential to be an enormous win for CHI.

Davidson seems like he's too thorough of a GM to let both draft picks become busts, which is the only way this is a complete loss for the hawks. Ultimately, he's strengthening the prospect pool in the next 3 offseasons.

For sure. I think it'd be pretty hard to ever call it a loss. Just saying the trade has the potential to be an even bigger win.

First Impressions: I LOVE this trade for both sides. Sad to see Hagel go, but Blackhawks got more than fair value. I am stunned that they got (2) 1st round picks AND 2 young, good bottom 6 roster players. Obviously we can't grade this trade completely for about 5 years, no idea who/what those 1st round picks will be. But overall, I like this trade that absolutely indicates "REBUILD".
