Having Lindholm

Created by: NoDeke
Team: 2021-22 Detroit Red Wings
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 19, 2022
Published: Mar. 19, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Something I would like to see in the coming days.

Sign Lindholm for around $6M. Seems like Wallinder is becoming pretty special. Might not seem like much but those are two pretty solid prospects. But they could for sure accept the deal that has a 1st round pick in it instead of prospects.
With Eddy we will have a real NHL defense for the first time in a long time!!!!!!

You’re a 1st shy on the Hampus asking price. Doubt you’d want to include it though, considering it’s a lotto pick.

wasa thinking about 2nd round picks. But im giving you Wallinder who was 1 pick away from being a 1st round pick. Hes progressed decently so hes worth that high 1st rounder I assume. Wally bud, ya want him, im telling ya tears of joy

Haha, yeah, the ask is apparently a 1st, top prospect and another piece though (remains to be seen whether someone will meet the price)…don’t know if an undersized 21 year old is the guy that I’d be targeting, especially considering you’re also getting an extension out of it.

Why would Yzerman give up premium assets for Lindholm when he can sign him as a UFA this Summer? If he signs a deal with the team he's traded to then so be it. We have Seider with Edvinsson on the way. A rebuilding team doesn't make a move like this. Lindholm will be making much more than 6 mil AAV. More like 7.5-8 mil AAV.

Wings are not in on Hampus and that doesn’t touch him.

Boston has no use for another small defenseman. They have a pile of them.

I feel ya, I know I wouldn't be blowing Verbeeks mind with this proposal. Does adding a DET 2nd get somewhere close? Im sure theres a prospect instead of Mastro that would work for them.

I have a feeling whoever is trading for him is going to extend him and id like it to be the wins. But if i have to pay him 7-8 Mill i aint doing it. Hes good but like my god, $8M? Are yiou serious? Is that whats rumored? Cu nobody's paying him that i can guarantee that. Unless its a team that will have no cap issues for the next how ever long you sign lindholm for 8 mill.

Your guarantee means nothing. You're not an NHL GM and neither am I. Seth Jones raised the price for top pair defensemen. 9.5 mil AAV. Morgan Rielly will make 7.5 mil next season. That's Lindholm's value. Pietrangelo makes 8.8. I could go on.

I Like Lindholm alot, but I don't put him in that category. Maybe if he only signs a 3-4 year contract im down with that $8M. But to me $7M at the very max over 5-8 years.
Do you believe Mastro and Wally are actually going to be key cog to our future. They will be good players but man I dont see a place for them. Maybe Wallinder

Not all of our prospects will pan out. But like Yzerman says, the more kicks we have at the can the better chances we have of hitting on them. Lindholm is 28 years old, right in his prime. He's a pending UFA and will get paid. Guys like him don't grow on trees. But we're too early in a rebuild to be fast tracking things. I don't believe in trading prospects just for the sake of trading them.

I think Lindholm will get 7.5+ but Detroit should take a run in the summer

I feel ya man, but with prospects we have had in the organization, i feel Steve has that eye to be like ya i could keep him, but may as well move on cuz he aint gunna be what i need when i need it.

i agree It is a bit too early for a Lindholm(type)! But would also be okay with him being a vet for us when we are dope and i like that old young balance.

I agree with you in that whichever team trades for Lindholm will have a great chance of re-signing him. But your trade offer won't get it done. It'll be higher and I don't believe Yzerman pays that.

It really depends which team acquires him. Do they have the cap space to pay him next season? Let's say it's Toronto. They have no cap space. He's not extending there. Rangers? They have lots of cap space. Well until the Fox contract kicks in. Flames? Is Johnny Gaudreau leaving as a UFA? If he stays then they have no cap space to extend Lindholm.

Red Wings have a ton of cap space and this gives them an advantage come UFA. Signing Lindholm and giving up no assets makes sense to me. I'm sure he'd listen to that Nick Lidstrom guy. 😉

**** ya dawg! Love having the boys just running the show! Lindstrom just actually works at home in Sweden most of the time. I just hope our Left d get better. Not worse, I kinda can't take it anymore, but i will if i have to.

I really don't know how our LD can get any worse. Dekeyser being gone instantly makes it better.
