Better scenario(Hawks get Thornton to sign cheap to win a cup possibly, and add

Created by: Nick628
Team: 2017-18 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 22, 2017
Published: Apr. 22, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Panarin won't be going anywhere, sadly. But I sure hope arty is on the move. With him and Kruger out open cap. The Thornton move is doubtful which is why I signed the likes of Ott and Fiddler. We need centerdepth to win draws. Still have space for something.

Sharks are better than Hawks right now and will be better next year too, I see no reason why Thornton would go from last years SC finalist to a team, the had two times in a row first round exit, including a sweep this year

Hasn't won a cup with them yet,one loss away from a first round exit. The sharks are not a better team then the Hawks in a 7 game series considering if he plays 2c for us he'd practically complete the team.

Why do you want Panarin to move? I'm not a Hawks fan so I'm curious on the reasoning as his numbers are fantastic.

Max roster size is 23. I would send 3 of those players to Rockford, and remove one of those depth signings, and sign someone reasonable with that cap space saved by removing 4 players from the roster.

I'd love to see Thornton come to Chicago but he's not Brad Richards...he's still much better than Richards was when he came here so 2M is unrealistic. I'd say he's making at least 3.5 and could very well still get 5+.

If Thornton wants a Cup badly, he'll sign with Pittsburgh or a young upcoming team like Edmonton, Toronto or Nashville. Hawks and Sharks are past their prime.

Guys Thronton said, in an interview " For the rest of my career it is the Sharks or retirement" same with Marleau so they don't want to go anywhere.

That's his loss. Plenty of Cup contenders would sign him for a run. Sounds like he's determined to retire without a ring...

Not sure Chicago is the "win a cup destination" anymore
