Description
Am i mad that Debrusk is still a Bruins ? No
But I really tought he was gonna be traded, but like i talked with others, no reason to trade him to make the team worse. I rather have Sweeney make no moove than to move him for something ain't worth his value. He's been good on the first line.
Seing the trade value for a guy like Rackell make me happy that we did'nt pay that much.
So i guess i'm ok with this, but i wish we coyld have trade him for a player that can slot at the center but it's ok, the team look good, we just need Bergy back healthy without rushing him and be ready for playoffs.

One moove i wish we could have done is Sanford for a 5th, personally i would have done it

That move for a center just wasn’t there. Giroux wouldn’t accept a deal to boston, pavelski, and hertl extended. Nothing else made sense.

Its obviously the playoffs and anything can happen but realistically, or at least on paper, even with a DeBrusk trade for Rakell or Copp I still dont see the B's getting passed FLA, CAR and maybe TB (even tho I think they're much more beatable this year than the past two). So it was smart to just hold on DeBrusk for now as much as I'm ready to see him go. Re-assess his situation come summertime. Adding Lindholm and locking in the top pair long term was great to see. Huge win. Josh Brown adds some needed size on the backend. One thing I wish they went out and tried is to add a depth forward because Studnicka, Steen and Blidh are all next guys up in case of injury, dont know how I feel about tht. But overall solid deadline for Sweeney, give him a B.

At least Sweeney didn't make the team worse like Doug Armstrong did.

Acquiring Lindholm and Brown and re-signing DeBrusk makes sense for the future. If DeBrusk bounces back even further, he can be dealt (if he still wants it) by the next TDL for more than the past one. Also Haula, Reilly, Forbort and Foligno can be re-assessed by then if nothing happens in the off-season. I’m just hoping the Bruins continue ramping up and building chemistry and give whomever they meet in round one the surprise of their lives!!
