Bailey might be able to replace 5-10 of Forsberg's goals, but where do the Preds get the other 30ish from?

NSH emphatically declines. Going by this, they could add a 1st and two busted prospects to their offer and get Miller instead.

Woof, lots going on here.

-Not sure if the Caps make that deal, but even if they do, Samsonov literally will not sign for $1.25M - he's making $2M this year and his QO will be at least that much for next season.

-Nashville doesn't want Bailey, I'd bet. If you're trying to ship him out, find a team that needs a playmaker - Bailey is an excellent passer and would do very well on the wing of a strong shooter. Nashville needs to replace that kinda guy, so he's a bad fit.

-I can't see Vancouver taking that deal. They're set at LD(Hughes, OEL, Jack Rathbone, Travis Dermott while Rathbone's getting AHL time) so Salo isn't much of an add for them. Bellows might turn out fine but at this point is mostly filler. I'll also throw out a hot take and say that the Isles might be better off keeping the picks and prospects - Miller is a great player, of course, but he's only signed for one more year. You're basically trading this ransom for 82 games, the playoffs, and the right to negotiate an 8 year deal that would cover his age-30 through -37 seasons, at most likely $6.5-7.5M per year. I'd say keep that package, keep an eye on the Canucks, and jump on him at the trade deadline for a slightly lesser haul if you still think he moves the needle for the team.

-Really no need to trade Ross. $1.1M for 4 years, you can easily find ways to carry that cap hit going forward if need be.

-One way to find that cap space is to sign an actual LHD instead of giving $6M to Kris Letang and forcing Dobson to play on his off-side. Weird move there.

Isles don't make sense for Miller, he's approaching 30 and he only has 1 year left on his contract + His reputation is better than his on ice impact, I wouldn't give up much for him.

They don’t Vanecek is really solid. Sammy is the issue so he’s 100% gone.
