Per the CBA, since the trade deadline is passed, anyone traded cannot play in the NHL for the remainder of the season. The two options are for us to waive him and have him play for Laval, or just have him on the roster, even though he’s not eligible to play. The idea is that Dadonov may never play for us, as we can send him somewhere he’d want to go in the off-season

For some reason, I find the idea that a player's 10-team-no-trade list would consist of the 7 Canadian teams and the 3 Californian teams strangely heartwarming.
