We could have kept one of the best 5v5 line intact... It would have been a great top 6.

Danault will be missed for years.... all of that because we wanted to keep KK...

Thats the offseason that set us back... like the offseason where Gainey trade Ryan McDonagh for Gomez... and trade a lot of future. Took us 10 years to recover from Turgeon and Gainey...

MB at least got a lot of picks and prospect throughout the years... but his refusal to tank hurt us.

gallagher and tatar have slowed down so much. letting go of danault was a mistake, but keeping these 3 togethers would have been a bad idea

agreed danault is the only part of that line that we shouldve kept. I love gallagher and the amount heart he plays with but his contract is already a burden and only going to get worse. Wouldve gladly gave that to danault . Tatar is replaceable with multiple guys on our team and didnt play the whole playoffs so was no reason to consider bringing him back.

Danault was going to be deployed as a defense/shut down player in Montreal, not the offensive threat he is in LA. But man, Danault with St. Louis as his coach, what a crazy timeline that would have been.

I must admit that I will be rooting for LA if you guys make the playoff. Just because of Danault.

You guys will be rebuilt sooner than you think, already had a decent prospect pool, hopefully you get more picks for 2023, that draft will be monsterous.
