    Cant do that yotes trade... It is called cap circumvention and is illegal.

    it is actually allowed. Chicago retains half and trades to Arizona, who then retains half again and sends him to the rangers. Happened with Savard last TDL

    Carolina, Florida and Columbus did it last week with Domi

    A 3 team deal would be legal, just trading half the contract after directly acquiring Kane wouldn't (i think)

    But in this instance Chicago trades directly to NY who then trades to ARI and gets back Kane at 25% of his current cap hit.

    Arizona is already retaining on 3 salaries, So no Arizona can't retain anymore needs to be another 3rd team that still has a slot open.
