I don't see a 60 point/season guy getting more than 8 if that's what you're asking.

I wonder if there’s a matching 5x8.5 and 8x8.5 for scheifele and Dubois coming? Or if there is a trade a brewing for scheifele.

Something tells me 55 won’t re-sign here. He’s gonna command a lot and I got a feeling he’s gonna ask for 9+

You also have 2 centres in Lusicus and Perfetti in the system already with fairly high ceilings

Scheifele can't sign an extension until 2023 summer. Also, i think Scheifele gets more money per year than Dubois.

Will be interesting what his market is? Outside of Winnipeg, I’m not sure of the demand for that 9/10 million market for him, especially if the cap remains stagnant. Starting to get later in his career, definitely has some solid years left though.

This one would be an overall better team than the current one.

He's a big 1C, 6'3 210 pounds. He's gonna be 31 when his contract ends, so if he's not greedy in terms of years (let's say 5-6 years contract), he could easily get 9M.

I think Zibanejad's contract would be a good comparable. His new contract gonna start when he's 29, at 8.5M per year. That's 10.43% of the salary cap. If the cap raise to 85M when Scheifele sign, 10.43% of that is 8.87M.

If he stays in Winnipeg, and he gives the hometown discount and sign for 8.5M, maybe a bit more. If he hits the UFA market, he gets over 9M.

Lots will change by then, but I was going through the teams, and didn’t seem like many would be overly interested. Possibly senators, maybe Toronto if Mathews has Phoenix aspirations, possibly Phoenix, maybe la/Anaheim. Possibly Philly or pit, but no real guarantees.

Habs would be interested for sure, if fans can stop hating him. But i don't think he wants to come here.

Good call missed habs idea, still think his best case scenario is a jets contract, probably a little more term than others, possibly a little less per. That was a big HIS best case, not sure what jets best case is yet?

I think a good deal for Winnipeg would be 8.5M for 6 years. I think he's worth more than 9M on the market. They could get it under 8M if they go 8 years, but that contract would look bad in 4-5 years.
