That's too much to pay for someone who might not even play.

Horrid for the Leafs. The Leafs would thousand times better...buying out Mrzarek at 1m per year, and signing 4.25m goalie, keeping those three young assets.......Same cap hit

I like this deal for both teams IF Price is good to play next season. He can play very well the next 2 years unless he gets the Monahan treatment, while we get futures. However, I cant bring myself to accept this on principle. Price has been the face of the franchise for the last 10 years. It would be like trading 33 year old Matthews to the Bruins.

I think he's done an ok job. He's been a pretty average GM. The issue I have with letting him go is, who will replace him? Charielli? Some unproven GM? I'd keep him for at least one more year.

no idea who'll be available but he gets knocked out in the 1st 3 years in a row i dont see how they can justify keeping him.

I understand your logic, but I'm still afraid that they hire someone like Charielli. And of course, he'd probably do something like trade Nylander for Petry lol. A rookie GM at this stage doesn't sound very appealing either.
