That's an ok return for Winnipeg, but I think they'd counter offer the deal by dangling Schmidt, or Dillon.

Sabres have dahlin, power, Samuelsson, Bryson, and prospect Ryan johnson- all as left shot d. They have nothing on the right. They seem to want a defensive d to play with dahlin and/or power.

Understandable, but the Jets are also in the same position, so even if the draft pick return is of decent value, it leaves the Jets with one right shot defenseman in their current top six, who happens to be playing great next to Morrissey, so that's why I'm a bit apprehensive about letting go of Demelo.

The overpaying on shorter contracts stems from our need to reach the cap floor while not crippling ourselves down the line.
