The Duncan Keith experiment failed terribly for Edmonton, only way to fix it is to trade away his contract to get a pick, but it will cost a prospect for the Oilers.

Same way for the Kassian deal, a cap dump that will help the Oilers a lot.

I've seen the Barrie/Soucy deal a few times now and to be fair, I don't hate it for both teams. Helps out the Oilers to get a more defensive defensemen and Seattle gets Barrie's offensive upside (whatever is left of that) and his contract to get a breather from the cap floor.

The goaltender carrousel is back in order. If Mike Smith retires, I see the Oilers trying to get Georgiev from the Oilers which is clearly the best option for Edmonton as there is no other options in free agency.

Deslauriers is Kassian's replacement, but cheaper.

I can also see the kids from the minors getting called up full time and have an impact with the team (Broberg, Holloway, Skinner, McLeod)
