It’ll be enough when he requests a trade. LA is the only team with surplus prospects to afford him

You forgot the Oilers receiving $15 million and LA getting Mike Krushelnyski and Marty McSorley.

yes but it isnt fair. the most talented and best player in the league entering his prime. I expect an all-star, 3-5 1st rounders and then Byfield, Clarke, Kaliyev, Vilardi, Spence and Turcotte

I sure hope you’re joking..

LA declines this pretty quickly actually. You don’t fit an entire roster of its top prospects plus multiple 1st round picks for anyone - not even McDavid. He’d have the same issue in LA that he has in Edmonton and that’s no supporting cast around him - in fact it’s be worse cause at least he has Draisaitl in Edmonton.

Don’t disagree with that. But that doesn’t mean basically 8 top prospects from a team - I guarantee you that no GM in the league makes this deal if they’re LA.

I said that it wasnt enough. I responded to you to say that LA would never do this. IMO you need a 100% superstar in return and a ton of picks and prospects. LA doesnt give that

This is more than enough for any player in the league. LA wouldn’t do it because it’s hurting their entire roster, but if Edmonton was shopping McDavid they’d jump on it.

this is probably not enough considering the fact the Edmonton is trying to win now and would need back someone who could put up 80 points along with other assets and prospects etc. It would start with Kempe, Clarke, Turcotte and a few more.

What you seem to be missing is that if Edmonton was considering moving McDavid, they’re not looking to win now. They’d be looking at a full rebuild. They’d be going for as many high picks and prospects as they can get.. this is way more than they’d ever be offered

thats pretty crazy to even consider because they still have a top 4 player in the NHL, a few really solid roster guys like Hyman, RNH, Nurse, Bouchard, Puljuarvi, and Yamamoto which would be stupid to not contend with. A McDavid trade would have to include them to have a top forward to replace McDavid, likely another young forward who can play middle 6 now and become a top line player, a #2-3 defenseman, a goalie, a few more young assets and picks. They would trade McDavid to get a more full roster. Otherwise there is no point

Not a single GM in the league is giving up what you just listed for any player. Not even McDavid.
