Pens fans went from “Marino is untouchable” to “let’s trade away Marino and a first” real quick. What happened?

For me he's only untouchable if there's no one to replace him. Signing Klingberg would solve that. I'd move him for a legitimate 2C and I doubt Van moves Miller without a 1st.

New GM and they hired Burke to oversee the long term direction of the team, basically the upcoming rebuild. This is the 16th straight playoff appearance for the Penguins.

Yeah if we get a legit replacement for Marino then pens fans would be fine with trading him. The issue with most of the Canucks trades is that they are trading Boeser who has a terrible QO. You can say he is willing to take a long term for less but that may be just with Vancouver. He has no loyalty to us. So no team would make a trade expecting he’d do that. And then to also send us 3rd pair/cap dumps as replacements like Schenn and Myers is a deal breaker too.

Nice try but you can't have Schenn.

Don’t want him. That was the whole point of the post. Y’all keep sending him with Boeser for Marino + like he is actually a replacement for Marino.

Lol, no Canuck fan has ever made that cut and dry of an implication, you were just becoming too paranoid. If the Pens don't want to deal Boeser for Marino that's fine, but if the Pens ARE interested in Boeser, I have no doubt Hextall and Burky will make sure that they are able to work out a contract extension at a more reasonable number than what he's owed on his QO before any trade for him goes down

Ya Schenn isn't going to be a throw in and neither is Myers. Fan perspectives and gm perspectives are completely different. Both dmen are valuable to the Canucks and Myers certainly carries value around the league as a big top 4 RHD particularly if the Canucks retain a bit of salary.

Great. Y’all can keep him then and there is no point in trading for Marino 👍
