As onerous as McDonagh's contract is, he's one of the pillars of leadership on the Lightning, so I don't think they move him for that, at least not yet

I think the Vegas trade is fine, although I'm not sure if the Golden Knights are ready to move on from Karlsson just yet

The Kraken take that trade and run

McDonagh and Tampa say No, McDonagh isn't waiving for New Jersey and that doesn't get him anyways.

Honestly the contract isn’t great (only cause of the length of the deal), but McDonagh is. Plus he’s been a great defenseman (actual defenseman, not forward playing defense) his entire career with a ridiculous amount of playoff experience. I don’t think he’s easily replaceable for Tampa. The intangibles he brings are huge.
