Beauvillier would take a young LD, pick around 20th-30th overall and a roster forward. In this case likely a pick swap with like Beau + around 13th overall for whatever pick the Habs have. It isnt happening though

I honestly would want Romanov, so if he's off the table we can't make a deal.

the greatest need is LD, so i’d be most interested in one of harris or guhle, and honestly that could be one for one

This makes sense but shows why it wouldn't happen. If Romanov is off the table, it would have to be one of Jordan Harris or Kaiden Guhle coming back, either the Calgary 1st this year or one of your 2023 1sts, and a roster forward - which, to me, is where it runs into the biggest problem. The only NHL-ready guys that are younger and aren't Suzuki or Caufield are Jake Evans & Ryan Poehling - neither is really super exciting. Maybe something like Beau & a 4th for Harris/Evans/Calgary 1st/Montreal 2nd? I think it would be something where the picks would have to even it out.

It also wont ever happen. We would need a young LD in return. An NHL ready guy. Guhle and Romanov arent getting moved so there is no point

Thanks for the input guys. So what I’m hearing and I have to agree is the biggest need on Long Island is a young NHL ready LD. Problem is Romanov and Ghule aren’t going anywhere, moving Harris after getting him to sign would be in bad faith and Norlinder isn’t NHL ready.

So what I propose is MTL takes the last year of Monahan’s contract form Calgary, in return they receive Valimaki. Then flip Valimaki along with Poehling and Calgary’s 2022 1st to the Islanders for Beauvillier.

Let me know what you guys think.
