That Minnesota trade keeps getting shot down by Minnesota fans. Portillo has 0 value to them

Overpay for Fiala. Guy needs a huge contract & can walk in a year. You don't need to give up that much.

And frankly, Mitts doesn't have much value to us either. To this point he hasn't proven much in the NHL and he has played nearly 200 games. I think his value to us would be identical to Sturm/Jost: 4th line guy that could get an opportunity in the lineup with injuries. I know Sabres fans put high value on him (which is understandable given how highly he was drafted), but to us I just don't see him having very much value.

I agree Mitts does not have a ton of value. I would definitely consider him to be the least valuable piece in the trade. That is why there is a mid first round pick and a high level prospect included in the trade. Fiala is a nice player but there are very few teams that will be able to fit his contract and be able to offer a better package.

Honestly, I think trading him would be a massive mistake unless Guerin gets a stupid overpayment for him. I'd much, much rather we move Dumba and one of Jost/Greenway/Talbot over Fiala.

He has been much better than a "nice player" for us this year, he's incredibly clutch and works his tail off every game even if he doesn't find the scoresheet. Ironically, our beat writer just wrote this article yesterday about him. If you have a sub, definitely give it a read

Thats funny you say that, because it seemsnlike any time I see a Dumba trade proposed it is met with the qild aren't trading him. He is a team leader, the organization loves him, he loves it there, he just built a new home there etc.

I see you've met the one Wild fan with like 12 different accounts that shames every trade. While I agree he does appear to be a team leader and it does seem like the organization loves him, Fiala is objectively superior at his position than Dumba is at his, and by a wide margin. I'd love to keep Dumba, but if I were Guerin I'd keep Fiala over Dumba 10 times out of 10.

He has definitely had a down year, but the team in front of him greatly affects his traditional counting stats. Save percentage, gaa. He was in the top 10 of the league the previous couple of seasons. Goaltrnding is also very volatile year to year, I could easily see him put up similar numbers to his 19-20 and 20-21 seasons with stronger season in front of him

How Wild are gonna build roster with that 12 mil in dead cap ? They cannot afford Fiala to extension and keep Dumba. And Sabres still can offer sheet Fiala.

As you implied, by trading Dumba. It's either him or Fiala and for me that's an easy choice.
