Out of the box Trade Idea Question to TBL fans

Description
Out of the box Trade Idea. This trade will happen after July 27th because we need to wait 1 calendar year

My question to TBL fans is...Do you like Tyler Johnson and was it just his cap hit that was too much? Do you think he's worth bringing back if his cap hit is $1.25M? Is there any traction to this idea at all?

Borgstrom is immediately sent to the AHL, Buffalo has no reason to help Tampa financially, without significant compensation

Interesting... I'd almost rather just let him play out his contract in CHI, though. Maybe he bounces back a bit and becomes trade bait for the TDL next season, he is at least a cap hit that helps CHI hit the Cap floor if they decide to go full on sell mode this summer.

Yes, the Sabres can retain 1.25AAV for 2 years. No, I don' think they would make this trade if it included Borgstrom. He would be 13/14F on our roster with Quinn and Peterka coming up next year. I like Borgstrom for the Sabres a lot actually, but he isn't waiver exempt and I don't want to lose him or have him playing little-to-none minutes.

Fair enough, BUF is really a place holder, but I understand what you're saying.

I don't think they'll have a problem getting above the floor, but to your point...it can absolutely be a TDL trade. It doesn't have to be this summer. It just needs to be after July 27th.

Nothing against TJ but no chance their giving up a young club controlled RHD with 6 years until UFA. He's been ppg in the OHL @19 and is waiver exempt.
I voted no @ the price a 2 and a top RD prospect

Fair enough, just so I'm clear though it's not a no overall...just too rich of an ask?
