Man Bernard Docker would be such a good fit next to Hughes. The highlight of him blocking 3 shots in a row in the AHL. He’s such a good defender

Seems like a good fit on paper, but JBD is still a prospect and has a long way to go before getting top-pairing minutes. Canucks would be betting on him actually turning into something, which is likely but not guaranteed.

Interesting deals. Luostarinen, Sturm, and Coghlan could turn out to be pretty decent acquisitions. Personally, I'd rather trade Boeser and keep Garland and I'm not so sure about having both Myers and Schenn in the top 4 again next year. JBD could turn out to be a great partner for Hughes, but this summer, I think VAN should prioritize adding a top 4 RHD who already has some NHL experience. Also, if we don't keep Lammikko or Karlsson, I think it would be a waste not to get any assets for them.

Ideally we would add one or two RHDs that can play in the top-4, but I don't think there are many options to choose from this offseason. Maybe Garland/Boeser for Marino, but I'm not sure if that would go through.

I think at least one of Miller, Boeser and/or Garland will be traded this summer. Miller is a bit different given his contract and age, but Boeser has a proven track record of production and his relatively low totals this year need to be split between the coaches. He's been far more productive under Boudreau and its a relatively safe bet that it will continue. Garland has been better of late too but Boeser has grown with this core and organization, is friends with Pettersson and Hughes and reportedly really wants to stay in Vancouver.

You could probably throw in Lammikko or Karlsson into any of the deals and it wouldn't make a difference.

if he were to be traded just for picks, what would his value probably be? a 2nd?

way more than a 2nd. Still projects as a top 4 defensive guy

He has no offence to him though, what would you be willing to get to give him up?

Offensive minutes in Belleville have gone to Thomson. JBD has played more defensive minutes, make sense he doesn’t have offensive numbers

It makes no sense for ottawa to trade him unless it’s in a package for a good top 6F with term

yes but I am trying to gauge his Isolated value, I understand it would probably be in a boeser deal but what is his value on the trade market by himself

I don’t think it works like that. Because prospects don’t really have isolated values . He was a 1st round pick , played 3 good years in North Dakota with solid defence , then 1 year in Belleville where’s he been the best defensive defenceman. So you could say he’s still on par to being what he was drafted to be which is a top 4D stabilizer

ok, I just see people slotting him in to Boeser trades and I see people slotting other prospects into boeser trades and I havent really watched him play so I dont know what value he holds to the organization when slotting him in. I made the mistake of adding picks to miller for byram and people flipped out at me so I want to know a player's value from the opposition before I propose a trade now
