Unfinished Business

Created by: Prime_Jimbo
Team: 2022-23 Vancouver Canucks
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 20, 2022
Published: Apr. 20, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Adding pieces via free agency. Creating a bit of cap flexibility and utilizing the center depth the team has. The team has played great under Bruce and I'm sure would want to push next year under Bruce again. Consider a Ferland move to capture further picks day with Tampa.

Would probably be a good move to get rid of Dickinson to free up space but even after his solid play lately, I can't see anyone giving up a 3rd for him. But hey, if Hamonic can get a 3rd, then who knows!

I like manson but one thing scares me, We dont want him to be the next hamonic/myers/poolman. He has shown that he can be a good defender, but how well will he age and I would be suprised if he didnt sign in an american city

Ha! Not sure which would be more hilarious, Ottawa giving us a 3rd for Dickinson, or Ottawa using Dickinson in a shootout

I wouldn't put Myers in that group. Sure 6m isn't great but I don't see it as mistake. The Hamonic deal was and Poolman was a huge reach. Definitely thin pickings of RHD UFAs though.

youre right but I think manson would be closer to a Myers than he would be to the others, He's going to be good, he wont be blow your socks off but he will probably be 1m overpaid

I feel stupid for asking you what you mean with this, was he a former client?

No, but Castonguay i'd imagine would be working the cap and negotiating contracts. Fun fact she was Antoine Roussel's agent and got him that 3 mill by 4 contract

I like the signing of Domi but i'd imagine he'd be next to Horvat given their friendship and chemistry when they played for the London Knights

FYI, Roussel actually was very good for Vancouver and was scoring at a 30+ point pace in his first year with the team, his play didn't fall off a cliff until after he suffered a season ending knee injury, he wasn't the same ever since

Ya, him, Pearson and Bo are all close. They'd have a lot flexibility with this forward group whether running Bo JT Petey down the middle, mixing up the wingers or loading up and Domi centering the 3rd line.
