I can told that Austin Mattews is bad because he never win a playoff serie... but it's not a good argument, it's similar as Price is a average goalie. Good luck

Again, very weird thing to say. No one brought up the leafs but you and they arnt relavent to the point being made. Seems like you just wanna avoid the fact that price hasnt been good in a long time

If price is healthy he's still a middling goalie 98% of the time and one playoff run doesnt change that

One playoff run? Go back and look at his numbers since the 2015 playoffs bud, he can't do anything if he doesn't have teams that score goals.

The Habs only made the playoffs last year because of the temporary divisional alignments. They would've been 12 points out of a playoff spot if the divisions were set up like they typically are. Just so you can have the "stat" provided for you, here you are:

Current divisional alignments with 2020-21 records:

METROPOLITAN
1 - Carolina: 36-12-8 (80 pts)
2 - Pittsburgh: 37-16-3 (77 pts)
3 - Washington: 36-15-5 (77 pts)
WC - NY Islanders: 32-17-7 (71 pts)
5 - NY Rangers : 27-23-6 (60 pts)
6 - Philadelphia: 25-23-8 (58 pts)
7 - Columbus: 18-26-12 (48 pts)
8 - New Jersey: 19-30-7 (45 pts)

ATLANTIC
1 - Florida: 37-14-5 (79 pts)
2 - Toronto: 35-14-7 (77 pts)
3 - Tampa Bay: 36-17-3 (75 pts)
WC - Boston: 33-16-7 (73 pts)
5 - Montreal: 24-21-11 (59 pts)
6 - Ottawa: 23-28-5 (51 pts)
7 - Detroit: 19-27-10 (48 pts)
8 - Buffalo: 15-34-7 (37 pts)

Carey Price is just such a huge question mark on a contract where you should not have any questions. Any team in the league could overpay one of the top goalies this summer (Kuemper, Husso, etc) by $2M per year and still be significantly cheaper than Carey Price’s $10.5M AAV
