Winnipeg says no. There's no point in making a lateral move and getting more expensive.

Jets say no purely based on contract. That’s about it. If they had matching deals I’d say sure let’s swap cause both could use a change.

Exactly. There just isn't a point in getting more expensive and not improving.

Yeah both the Jets and Islanders 100% decline, Neither trade helps either team.

Take out the 5th and throw in a 2nd going back to the Islanders and it's something we can work with. Mayfield's paid like a bottom pair guy but can play 20+ minutes a night and help your team prevent goals. Dube profiles out like a middle 6 guy at best - so Isles are giving up the better player (arguably) and taking back the younger, more expensive player. Dube isn't a dud, but I think Calgary needs to make this more enticing before the Isles just hang up the phone and keep Mayfield in the org.

Appreciate the feedback. I was approaching from isles need offence and flames will need defence. I am not super confident on value of each.

Does adding a 4th to aid in exchange of money do anything?

Not IMO. The Jets just don't have the extra cap space available with the current lineup. If other players were moved that created cap space then maybe.

Just simply can’t afford the money with what they have to do this off-season. Even if they find a way to trade wheeler this is not how they should spend the money.

You'd probably have to get Arizona or Seattle to take Välimäki and then make a separate trade for Stanley.

I don't mind either trade, but I feel we re-sign Gudbranson who has proven himseld to work under Sutter' system - and he'll be around the same cap-hit.
I don't mind the Stanley trade, however, but for Dubé, not Valimaki.
