Vegas is up against the cap and every team knows it. GM's with cap space like Yzerman can leverage McCrimmon who isn't liked anyway. Yzerman can move on to other options like Pettersson in Pittsburgh or Schmidt in Winnipeg. He can say "find another team to solve your cap problems. Good luck with that."

The move itself might make sense, but not the Jets adding assets to do it. Winnipeg is tight against the cap so adding a player that is more expensive and isn't any better actually hurts them.

Vegas has cap issues. So the Jets Jets should take advantage of that and charge them extra for helping them out.
