Agreed. I think Scheifele would be a nice fit on the island, but Dobson is a non starter for NYI. They're also not in great shape cap wise to fit another large contract in if they want to resign him. Dobson is going to get a hefty raise this year and Barzal will probably get 8 over 8 the following.

Yup, the Islanders indeed need some offense to go with their stellar defense, I just don't know how they get it and get it to fit their timeline without hurting what they have.

They have way too many long term deals for forwards over 30 and a lot of NMC and NTCs with them. The problem is all those guys are so similar that the team is just vanilla and can be easily shut down offensively.
