Trotz Available

Initial Creation Date: May 9, 2022

Description
If the jets can find a way to land Trotz as the new HC this summer, they would be in the best position possible. Trotz would bring exactly what the jets need, a defensive minded HC with strong structure.

I think that a hiring like this would allow the jets to retool and push for a playoff spot next season. I wasn’t sold on the idea of making a few moves and trying again next year, but with a really strong coaching staff and complete buy-in from the players I’m on board.

This is the one way I’d give scheifele another year. Because if he can’t buy into trotz’ system, he won’t buy into anything the jets want to do.

Also, any news about any team in the top 7 wanting or being open to trading their pick in this years draft? Jets desperately need a guy like Nemec/Jiricek.

I'd rather see Boudreau coaching the Jets, they're not built to play Trotz style hockey and he makes some Mauriceesque decisions that I hope to never see again.

Trotz wouldn't play Bellows full time this past season, he would not play him in Win if he goes there.

He is a good coach, he can make some questionable choices but he’d be a coach I’d have faith in.

he is a good coach if your core is all over 30. He can win you a cup if your team is proven to be good. Maybe he could with the Jets if he does not have as much trade influence and you force him to trust the young guys

Our owner is extremely hands on so he wouldn’t have much influence on trades.

Jets are a proven team, they can win and they’ve performed. They need a guy like trotz to put it all together. They have 1 year to make it work or they are rebuilding.

The Jets need an experienced coach from outside of the organization. Both Boudreau and Trotz are proven winning coaches in the regular season. Trotz having more success in the playoffs. Seems Trotz is like Maurice in favoring the veterans. Boudreau on the other hand seems to work well with all ages. To me either one I would be happy with coaching the Jets maybe leaning more to Boudreau but why hasn't Vancouver locked up him yet?
This team also must find that 1RHD. Schmidt and DeMelo do not fit that bill. For starters use what you get for Schmidt, DeMelo, and Stanley to get this 1RHD. Yes give up some other pieces but without a true 1RHD, I think this team is not going where it is suppose to even with a new coach.
