I've seen exactly 1 ACGM where Chiarot was re-signed, considering the caveat between what Zito said after the trade "If he fits good we'll be looking to get him back with some term" and the lack of ACGM picturing him with the team next year, what's happening?

Horniquist has 8 team no trade list. Since most teams are close to the cap , he can list teams that have cap and really make it virtually impossible to trade to team without Panthers taking back cap.
I'm sure Arizona would be on non trade list, and would be Seattle, Montreal, Winnipeg, Jersey, Chicago. (that's six) Can't think of any other teams that would want him or can afford him.

Maybe, but sometimes player have to accept even if they don't really want. Look at Ladd.
Panthers can say you go there or in the minor. Not sure he want to finish in the minor.

Well not throwing 3M$ at an unproven third liner in Marchment would help in getting some of that cap space back but I was mainly asking out of curiosity considering Zito's comments and the fact that if it's indeed simply a rental he wanted well it was quite a steep price to get one.

Of course being sent to the minors, doesn't say much cap any. Teams get about 1.1m in cap relief, and then they have to find a replacement so even 800,000, the total savings in cap is 300,000.

I wonder about Ladd. His wife is a doctor, did she agree to the trade so she could set up his practice in Arizona?....which might be Mr Ladd's retirement destination anyway.
