Even if it a McDavid for 1st overall pick, habs can't trade it because of where the draft is

I wouldn't trade it at all we need a top 6 center, you don't find them in trades or FA

Just pisses me off that after 42 years, the first OA pick that we get is sooooo beige. I hope Hughes actually follow his guts and draft Cooley

I think both decline but I like the idea

Philly mainly because 23 probably gets close to top 5 again, mtl because the draft is here… I’m a flyers fan in Montreal and even im happy to see this lol

I like Wright, I think too many people want a McDavid or Matthews and those guys don't come along too often. No one is ever happy with a Bergeron, ROR or RNH type of player but those are the guys with cups and who don't want 11+ mil a year.

Correct I’ll take a Bergeron any day and if Wright turns into that kind of centre we should be ecstatic

How about a Zegras or a Point? Because thats the kind of player Cooley projects to be.

I don’t think the Flyers would do this. Just way too much risk to give up a pick like that when the team very well could suck next year and then they ended up giving up someone at pick 5, likely Savoie and Michkov or more likely Fantilli, Yager, or Musty for Wright and then an ok prospect in the 20s

Would rather just pick Savoie at 5 and then whoever next year

IF he hits his ceiling he also has a floor lower than that of Wright. That is a huge gamble, one I am not willing to take with the 1st OVA pick. Even if Wright just hits his floor as a 2C we still end up with 2 quality 2-way 60-80 point top 6C's. That to me is worth more than risking Cooley flaming out.
