McCabe isn’t very good at all. I understand that Scandella has had a rough season but McCabe isn’t that much of an upgrade

McCabe was pretty good in Buffalo. What could have happened?

Blues decline. No need to give up a first for taking on Scandella lite while giving up Scandella. Used to like McCabe but he seems to have regressed. Could be because he was on a terrible Chicago team

No need for the blues to do this. Scandella is overpaid but not useless. If he was at a 2 million salary he would be fine. McCabe isn't that much better that the difference is a first round pick.

Blues decline. Army has shown a willingness to trade "bad contracts" in the past (Jori Lehtera comes to mind) but a 1st is way way too rich. (a) Scandella isn't that bad and (b) Blues aren't that desperate.

IF Army felt he had to trade Scandella yesterday I think a sweetener way lower than a 1st would get it done. 2nd round pick at the most but even that feels pricey. McCabe and a 6th doesn't alter that equation for me (personally) at all.
